About Children & Youth
Our Purpose
- To ensure that any child of a veteran in need of care and protection shall receive proper and timely service and aid;
- To strengthen the family unit;
- To extend support;
- To extend support to sound organizations and facilities that provide services for children and youth; and
- To maintain a well-rounded program that meets the needs of the young people in their respective communities.

- Temporary Financial Assistance Grants
- The American Legion Child Well-being Foundation
- Policy positions for legislative testimony and advocacy on matters of child safety, education, substance abuse and family stability
State
- Involvement and support for Special Olympics
- Fundraising and assistance for children with special needs, such as those from low-income families who require hearing aids, prosthetic limbs or have other needs.
- Immunization promotion
- Fulfillment of holiday programs for children
- Assistance and support for agencies that help children who have disabilities, lack parents or otherwise need help
