There are three National Awards. The information reported on the Consolidated Post Report (CPR) form is used in the selections of National Awards.
This award is what some would call the "Legionnaire of the Year." This individual will have exhibited an effort in working with, and towards, any or all of the objectives and principles of the Department Americanism Committee.
It is the educators in our local communities that we go to in promoting American Legion programs like: Badger Boys State, County Youth Government, Oratorical Scholarships, A & G Testing, Law Enforcement Career Academy, Flag Education, Patriotism and other individual Post Programs. We depend on principals, guidance counselors, individual teachers and school staff to promote participation in these programs. This award will show appreciation for the important role these individuals play in promoting our Americanism & Youth Programs.
Posts submit nominations for businesses that hire veterans. There are three winners chose by the employer's size. Small (50 or fewer employees), Medium (51-200 employees), Large (201 or more employees).
Awarded annually to an Employment Service Local Office.
Awarded annually to 1 LVER (Local Veterans Employment Representative) and 1 DVOP (Disabled Veterans Outreach Program)
Awarded annually to an employer that employs workers over 55.
Awarded annually to organizations that significantly improve the ability of persons with disabilities to participate in the public life of the community.
Awarded annually to VA Volunteers
Awarded annually to an outstanding Officer in the community.
Awarded annually to an outstanding Firefighter in the community.
Awarded annually to an outstanding EMT in the community.
Awarded annually to an outstanding Guard/Reservist in the community.
Awarded annually to a Legislator doing work on behalf of veterans.
Historian Awards are due to the Department the 2nd Friday in June by 3:00 PM

Awarded annually to the County Commander doing outstanding work in their District.
Awarded annually to posts and individuals dedicating their time to their Post Honor Guard.

The Arline Rintoul Memorial Award is presented to an outstanding woman Legionnaire by the 20/4, Honor Society of Women Legionnaires.
