Leading the Way by Donating Blood

Did you know that The American Legion is the largest collective blood-donor to the Red Cross? The American Legion adopted Resolution 33, calling for our organization to assist in Homeland Security preparedness - the blood supply is a matter of Homeland Security.

The most important part about donating blood is to remember that it saves lives.  Waiting for an emergency to donate will not get the blood to the receiver in time.

The American Legion, Department Holds Blood Drives at many of our events. This year's schedule is as follows:

  • Department Convention- Friday, July 17, 2020 from 9 AM-2 PM at the Red Lion Paper Valley in Appleton, WI
  • Celebration of Freedom- Saturday September 12, 2020 from 9 AM-2 PM at Veterans Memorial Field in Portage, WI.

It's our mission to enhance the lives of our Veterans and their families, inspire the next generation of Wisconsin leaders, and promote the principles of The Legion in every community across the Badger State.

Together, we can accomplish so much for those who need us. We welcome you to our Legion Family.

“Our brave Patriots who served so heroically over the past twenty years in Afghanistan, Iraq and in the War on Terror.

They have lost faith in the system. Now they are questioning why they sacrificed so much, volunteering to defend their principles and the honor of the flag we all served under.

At Legion Wisconsin, we have a responsibility to never leave a fellow Warfighters behind.

Thanks to Legion Wisconsin's Troop and Family Support Fund, veterans of all generations can get the help they need, when they need it. Please consider a generous gift to the Legion Wisconsin Troop and Family Support Fund, assisting those managing PTSD, navigating job and family transition, overcoming financial difficulties and so much more.

Your generous gift will not only help a fellow Warfighter get the hand up they need, it reinforces your commitment to the pillars of The American Legion... from Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation to Americanism and National Security.”
