Veterans Employment Initiative
The American Legion
Department of Wisconsin
Veterans
Employment
Initiative
In partnership with the Wisconsin National Guard, as well as many state and federal agencies, The American Legion's Veterans Employment Initiative (VEI) assists at Veteran Job Fairs to promote the hiring of veterans.
The VEI also steps in to help the veteran get established in their new position. At the critical entry phase of employment, some veterans may lack the necessary tools and equipment to begin work. Others may need transportation or financial assistance to off-set expenses until their first payday arrives. The VEI supports veterans by providing equipment, tools and transportation as they enter the work force.
EMPLOYERS: The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) are proud to offer the Wisconsin Veteran Employment Grant Program to encourage Wisconsin employers to hire and retain eligible veterans. Click here for more information on this program.
