Commander's Communique for March 17, 2015

As all of us are aware, Marine Staff Sergeant Kerry Kemp of Port Washington was recently
killed during a training mission when the helicopter he was aboard crashed in Florida.
Kerry served with the 2nd Special Operations Battalion of the Marine Corps Special Operations
Command.  He graduated from Port Washington High School in 2005.
Plans are being made for Staff Sergeant Kemp's funeral procession from Mitchell Field
in Milwaukee to Port Washington once his remains are returned to Wisconsin for interment.
The procession is anticipated to take place within the next 10 to 14 days.
The family has requested that Military and Veteran Service Organization Honor Guards,
as well as municipal Fire and Police Departments, participate in recognizing his sacrifice.
I am asking that all Post Honor Guards who are interested in participating contact
Jim Smith at (262) 707-2366 or by e-mail at cdrdist6@wi.vfwwebmail.com
Thank you for you willingness to honor Sergeant Kemp and provide some comfort to his family.
Sincerely,
Commander Robert Shappell
