CALLING ALL TEACHERS!

The American Legion, Department of Wisconsin offers a number of scholarships to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. If you have a teaching background, there is opportunity to take on a active role on the Americanism committee. Please contact Headquarters staff at 608-745-1090 if you are interested.

RESEARCH GROUP LOOKING FOR OIF/OEF/OND VETERANS

Andrea Hayes is a researcher from the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds http://investigatinghealthyminds.org/#nogo. She is involved in a project through UW-Madison that is aimed to help returning veterans. They are looking to find ways to address the distress of returning combat veterans. They are conducting a study that offers a free 7-day Wellness and Resiliency Workshop for those who have served in OIF/OEF/OND. Past Veterans who have taken the course found improvements in mood and sleep as a result. In order to study the beneficial effects of the workshop they are collecting brain imaging and questionnaire data. Participants will be compensated up to $380 for their time and commitment.
